Iram indeed is gone with all its Rose,
And Jamshyd's sev'n ring'd cup where no one knows.
But still the vine her ancient Ruby Yields.
And still a garden by the Water blows.

সম্পদ-জৌলস সবই নিয়ে আজকে ঈরাম বিস্মৃত
জামশেদেরও সপ্তবলয় রঙিন গেলাস তাও গত
কিন্তু আজো দ্রাক্ষাকুঞ্জে মিষ্টি আঙুর বিরাজমান
যেমন করে বাগান পাশে বইছে নদী শ্বাশত।

Red wine!the Nightingale cries to the Rose

নাই যে আজি দায়ূদ নবীর মিষ্টি কণ্ঠের স্বর্গ সুর
পাহলভি চায়-'শরাব। শরাব।'- লাল শরাবে মাতাল-চূর।'
হলুদ কপোল বুলবুলিরা এসব দেখে আজকে সব
গোলাপ ফুলের কাছে আবার চাচ্ছে ফিরে রূপ মধুর।
